This is awesome and comes from someone who's played and officiated at the highest level. Well-said.

Nobody in hockey cares about “slew footing” unless Marchand is involved. It happens numerous times in every game.
Player safety makes decisions based off their Twitter feed.

I really wish that this fight had ended in a double KO:

Jack Johnson and Justin Schultz had greater shooting accuracy in their last seasons with the Pens than PK did with some of his punches in this fight.

Subban is more of a "specialist" when it comes to slew-footing. It is "his thing". It is "what he does". Pens fans have called him "Slewban" ever since he injured Jordan Staal's foot in the 2010 playoffs doing a slew-footing. With Marchand slew-footing is just one element of his repertoire of cheap dirty tactics. He has done pretty much everything except for biting. I guess he saved that for Claude Lemieux's son.

Using historic war references to explain hockey is lazy and irresponsible. Stewart must be Canadian or worse yet a liberal lunatic.

Waiting for McSweeney of Fitzgerald to course correct anything to with the Bruins... don't hold your breath. Since the day Chara signed with the Bruins there has been an entirely different "INTERPRETATION" of the rules for Bruins. Marchand is a repeat offender in multiple different categories of misconduct.. a still gets 2 games or a meaningless fine. Your message is well intended but NHL is garbage these days a policing the game
